Stasik: Don’t let juvenile behavior define Fountain Hills

Posted

I recently drove in from Scottsdale and there are hundreds of political signs along the route with the names and photographs of candidates. It’s not until you approach the Fountain Hills border that the signage becomes juvenile, name-calling and totally embarrassing.

“Dishonest Dickey.” Really? “Ginny supports potholes.” Are you kidding me? Are we in grade school again? I would hope the residents of our town are above such nonsense and stupid statements. I believe we have to be adults to vote but, obviously, you don’t have to be adult to run a campaign.

I’ve lived in Fountain Hills for 38 years and I am currently traveling across the country on vacation. We are now in Texas and I have been looking at the political signs all along the way. Nowhere have I seen the type of insults that are prevalent in the town I love. Please do not allow this mindset to define Fountain Hills.
