Litchfield Park has fewest confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Southwest Valley

According to data released by the state Department of Health Services on Monday, July 6, Litchfield Park has the fewest confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections in the Southwest Valley, at 365.

The department provides the latest information on the data dashboard on its website, azdhs.gov. As of Monday, there were 101,441 confirmed cases of the respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus in the state, and 1,810 deaths. Maricopa County accounted for 64,915 cases.

A breakdown of cases by Southwest Valley ZIP codes showed:

  • 1,243 cases in Tolleson 85353;
  • 1,010 in Buckeye 85326 and 245 in Buckeye 85396;
  • 943 cases in Avondale 85323 and 744 cases in Avondale 85392;
  • 755 cases in Goodyear 85338 and 476 in Goodyear 85395; and
  • 365 cases in Litchfield Park 85340

Other data shows that 52% of those infected in the state are female and 48% male; 26% of those infected are considered high-risk due to being 65 or older or having one or more chronic medical conditions.

Cases by age group are:

  • Younger than 20 — 11,319
  • 20-44 — 50,752
  • 45-54: — 15,668
  • 55-65: — 11,882
  • 65 and older — 11,676
  • Unknown ages —144

Cases by race are:

  • White, non-Hispanic — 15%
  • Hispanic or Latino — 23%
  • Native American — 7%
  • Black, non-Hispanic — 2%
  • Asian/Pacific Islander — 1%
  • Other, non-Hispanic — 2%
  • Unknown race — 51%

The website also offers general information about COVID-19 in English and in Spanish, including sites where people can get tested.
