“Together we believe this is in the best interests of our community. We look forward to continuing this beloved tradition next year and, in the meantime, we wish everyone a safe and healthy holiday weekend,” the city announced in a post on its Facebook page.

“In partnership with the city of Litchfield Park, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the decision to cancel our 2020 Fourth of July Fireworks Show,” Wigwam officials announced on the resort’s website, wigwamarizona.com. “At The Wigwam, our priority is first and foremost the safety and well-being of our valued patrons and team members.”

When they initially announced the show, officials encouraged residents to watch from home or their vehicles, while resort guest watched from their rooms.
