Estrella Women’s Health Center moving to new, larger building this fall

Estrella Women’s Health Center, an OB-GYN practice by Estrella Parkway and Interstate 10, is preparing to move into a new facility this fall that will give it three times the space.

The 11,080-square-foot building currently under construction at 35 N. Estrella Parkway just south of Van Buren in the residential and retail districts of Centerra and Hudson Commons is one mile from its current location, according to a city of Goodyear news release.

“We will have one side of the building dedicated to midwifery patients, while the other side is regular OB-GYN,” Justin D. Wood, the practice administrator, stated in the release.

The extra space will enable the office to expand from one doctor, one nurse practitioner and one midwife to two doctors, three nurse practitioners or physician assistants and four midwives, the release stated. It also will accommodate 17 hourly staff members – front office, medical assistants and ultrasound techs – up from nine at the existing location.

The center has operated in Goodyear for five years. According to Mr. Wood, it chose to expand close by because the area is growing and will need more OB-GYNs. The move is scheduled for Nov. 6.

Goodyear is one of Arizona’s fastest-growing communities, with a population increasing by 5% in just one year – more than double that of other Greater Phoenix cities, the release stated.

Estrella Women’s Health Center is part of Arizona OBGYN Affiliates, an integrated family of OB-GYN physicians and the largest OB-GYN practice in the state, with locations throughout the Valley.
