David Frederick Kansorka

Posted

April 11, 1937 to April 28, 2020

David was born in Toledo, OH to Herbert and Mildred Kansorka. He attended Waite High School and the University of Toledo. In his younger days he worked on the C&O and B&O railroads, a job he loved to look back on. Dave was the ultimate salesman, working for Britannica World Books, and becoming a licensed real estate broker in Colorado and Arizona. His career included selling land in Pueblo West, CO for the McCulloch corporation, the developers of Lake Havasu City and Fountain Hills. He sold new homes in the Denver area for eleven years before moving to Tucson in 1988 where he was VP of Sales for Fairfield Homes.

Upon returning to Colorado in 1995, he and his wife Jan started their own real estate company, specializing in new home sales. In 2000 they moved to Surprise, AZ where he again sold new homes for several years. After moving to Sun City in 2012 he and Jan worked together in real estate. Until recently Dave was an associate broker with Tempus West Valley Realty.

Dave is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janice Dalton Kansorka, and a blended family: sons David L. Kansorka (Linda), Michael Baker (Rochelle), Bill Baker and Timothy Fox; daughters Jennifer Fox, Kimberly Swain and Jo Ann Baker McIvor (Bill); ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Marilyn Dalton; four nephews and a niece. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, two grandsons and very special brother-in-law, Thomas Dalton, with whom he had many adventures.

Community service was important to Dave. He was a life member of Rubicon Lodge No. 237, F. & A.M., Toledo, OH; a past Al Kaly Shriner and Eastern Star member in Pueblo, CO.

Dave was a scratch golfer; he was Club Champion at Ventana Canyon Golf Club in Tucson in 1994. He was a spectator at the Masters in Augusta twice. He spent many years working behind the scenes at the Phoenix Open and the LPGA tournaments.

After discovering the Bell Woodworking shop in Sun City he made many projects, including beautiful wooden bowls for clients, family and friends. The Denver Broncos were his favorite football team and he enjoyed going to their games in Denver.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at his church, Sun City Christian (DOC). Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children’s website.
