[Update: A planned Thursday night (June 4) closure of Loop 202 Santan Freeway in the Chandler area has been postponed, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The closure to allow Salt River Project overhead power line work will be rescheduled.]

A section of Loop 202 Santan Freeway in Chandler is scheduled to be closed Thursday night, June 4, for utility work, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Loop 202 will be closed in both directions between Interstate 10 and Loop 101 Price Freeway from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, June 5, for overhead power line work by Salt River Project, according to a release.

Drivers who normally would use the Santan Freeway in that area should consider alternate routes, including east- and west-bound Chandler Boulevard. Westbound Loop 202 drivers also can consider using northbound Loop 101 and westbound U.S. Highway 60 as an alternate freeway route. Drivers on I-10 who normally would use eastbound Loop 202 can consider using eastbound US60 to southbound Loop 101 to reach eastbound Loop 202.
