Robert (Bob) Edwin Kelley

Robert, age 89, loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many who knew him, passed away February 27, 2020 in Sun City, Arizona.

Bob was born on July 13, 1930 in Flint, Michigan to Tullie Edwin Kelley and Macle (Trotter) Kelley.

Bob attended Longfellow Jr. High School, was a graduate of Flint Central High School in 1948 and Flint Jr. College in 1950. He moved to Arizona to attend Arizona State College, Tempe AZ (ASU) in 1950.

Drafted in 1951, he served with the US Army in Osani-ni, Korea in 1952-53.

In March 1952 he married Shirley M. Dye of Dye Community, Flint TWP, MI, in Phoenix, AZ. Bob was employed by IBM CORP, PBSW Office Supply, Blue Cross-Blue Shield of AZ, Honeywell, and the State of Arizona- DOR, MVD, DOT. He received a BS in Accounting from Arizona State University, was active in Boy Scout Troop #325 and served on the Alhambra Elementary School Board, Board of Trustees of his Lipan Court Condos, riding his bike and playing Outdoor Shuffleboard, where he was called “Bicycle Bob”.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, son Michael Edwin Kelley (Sue Noble) in Commerce City, CO, daughter Patrice Dugan in Peoria, AZ and son Robert W. D. Kelley (Lynn Riley) in Margate, FL, grandchildren: Ryan Edwin Kelley, Megan Kelley Rietzke, Shannon L. Kelley, Christen N. Kelley, Cameron J. Kelley and step-grandson Dylan Noble and Brian Noble.

Services for Bob are to be held on March 14, 2020 at 2:00pm at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery in Scottsdale, AZ.
