Sunset Dinner Fundraiser, Friday, Nov. 11, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Join the Pardners of Tumbleweed Ranch for its annual “Sunset Dinner” to support their mission to educate the community about Chandler’s agricultural heritage. Proceeds benefit Chandler Museum’s children’s programs while enhancing the amenities at Tumbleweed Ranch.

The dinner is a unique outdoor eating experience nestled in the Wagon Camp and catered by West Alley BBQ and Smokehouse.

Local Chandler businesses have donated an array of unique items and gift cards for raffle baskets for purchase.

Enjoy the music of DJ Matthew Figueroa as you dine under the stars amongst the wagons and historic setting. As the evening winds down, the wagon teams ready their wagons for the Saturday noon Chuck Wagon competition.

Sunset Dinner Tickets are $45, plus processing fee. To purchase tickets, visit pardnersoftumbleweedranch.org and click the Entertainment tab for the Eventbrite link.

However, the family friendly event itself is free and includes the Lil Rustlers Camp, featuring trick roping by Cowboy Steve, face painting and much more. Attendees and diners will also be treated to entertainment including the Maricopa 4H Cloggers and music from DJ Figueroa.

Organizers hope you will join them for this delicious event that celebrates Chandler heritage.

Junior Cookoff, Saturday, Nov. 12

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make food over the campfire? We invite kids and teens ages 10-15 to join the Junior Cookoff as adults give tips on Dutch Oven meals and desserts and explore cooking over an open fire. Several methods of cooking will be presented.

The Junior Cookoff will take place on Saturday morning, Nov. 12. Registration is $10 and is available on the Pardners site at: https://www.pardnersoftumbleweedranch.org/youth-campfire-cooking-challenge.html.

Only a few spots remain, and registration is first come, first served.

No experience with outdoor cooking is necessary. lf you think you've got what it takes to cook up a camp oven stew and a bread/biscuit dish that would please any Old West cowboy on the trail, then register for this great event.

Fill out the registration form and join us in the Wagon camp for a unique cooking experience. Each dish will be judged, and prizes awarded for first, second and third in each category.

The deadline to register for the Junior Cookoff is Monday, Oct. 31.
