The Huntington's Disease Society of America's (HDSA) Arizona Chapter will be hosting the Phoenix Team Hope Walk on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Desert Breeze Park in Chandler.
The event will begin at 5 p.m., and proceeds "support HDSA’s mission to improve the lives of people affected by Huntington’s disease (HD) and their families."
"The walk to me means getting family together and giving the space and time for people to connect who otherwise may be feeling isolated, alone, overwhelmed by the stressing of HD and its effects,” said Jennifer Perks, HDSA’s Arizona Chapter President in a news release. “The energy that I feel from those who attend, our volunteers, and vendors that donate their time make planning this event so worth it.”
HDSA's Team Hope Walk Program is nationally sponsored by Genentech and Teva Pharmaceuticals, and Team Hope is HDSA’s largest national grassroots fundraising event, according to a news release. The event takes place in over 100 cities across the U.S. and has raised more than $20 million for HD since its inception in 2007.
