Loop 202-Santan Freeway scheduled for weekend closure Aug. 26-29

Posted

The westbound Loop 202-Santan Freeway will be closed between Val Vista Drive and Gilbert Road from 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29.

The westbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Williams Field Road, San Tan Village Parkway and Val Vista Drive will also be closed.

Motorists traveling west on Loop 202 may consider exiting ahead of the closure and use Williams Field or Germann roads to Gilbert or Cooper roads to access the Loop 202.

The closure is a result of the Lindsay Road interchange construction project, which is nearing completion.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is asking drivers to plan ahead for detours and travel delays, slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the restrictions are in place.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors. Real-time highway conditions statewide are available by visiting ADOT's traveler information site at az511.gov or call 511, except while driving.
