CUSD board approves tax increase, pay raises

The Chandler USD governing board approved July 27 a tax increase for residents and a pay increase for staff.

The district will raise its primary property taxes over the current level to pay for increased expenditures in those  areas where the board has the authority to increase property taxes for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2022.

The Chandler Unified School District will have an increase in its primary property tax levy of $2,500,000.

The change would cause Chandler USD's primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $7.18. Without the tax increase, the total taxes that would be owed would have been $0.30.

The board also approved additional pay increases for staff, funded by state funding.
