Chandler business Phoenix Fab, LLC was among 15 recipients of the 2022 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, the highest U.S. government honor to employers for support of National Guard and Reserve employees.

According to a news release,  the recipients consisted of employers nominated by a National Guard or Reserve employee.  Phoenix Fab, LLC was one of 2,777 nominations for the award.

Per the release, the recipients of the award "distinguished themselves by going far beyond the requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, or USERRA, to support their National Guard and Reserve employees. "

Phoenix Fab is a CAD modeling and CNC shop, according to the business's website, and aims to "bring back manufacturing" to the United States. The employee who nominated the business is an Arizona Air National Guard member, according to the release.

“I am proud to salute the employers who have distinguished themselves by being named Freedom Award recipients as we mark the 26th year of this highly coveted recognition,” Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III said in the news release.
