Seven Southwest Valley high schools in Avondale, Buckeye, Goodyear and Tolleson were ranked among the top 100 of 550 Arizona schools included in U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best High Schools list.

Seven Southwest Valley high schools among top 100 in Arizona

Seven Southwest Valley high schools in Avondale, Buckeye, Goodyear and Tolleson were ranked among the top 100 of 550 Arizona schools included in U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best High Schools list.

According to its website, usnews.com, the rankings include data on nearly 24,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. In addition to traditional high schools, the rankings encompass charter; magnet and science, technology, engineering and math-focused schools.

Here’s how Southwest Valley schools stacked up:

University High School, 9419 W Van Buren St., Tolleson, ranked 54th in Arizona, first in Tolleson Union High School District, 42nd in the Greater Phoenix area and 3,335th nationally.

Millennium High School, 14802 W. Wigwam Blvd., Goodyear, ranked 67th in Arizona, first in Agua Fria Union High School District, 51st in Greater Phoenix and 3,999th nationally.

Verrado High School, 20050 W Indian School Road, Buckeye, ranked 74th in Arizona, second in AFUHSD, 58th in Greater Phoenix and 4,367th nationally.

Youngker High School, 3000 S. Apache Road, Buckeye, ranked 88th in Arizona, first in Buckeye Union High School District, 67th in Greater Phoenix and 5,179th nationally.

Desert Edge High School, 15778 W. Yuma Road, Goodyear, ranked 93rd in Arizona, third in AFUHSD, 71st in Greater Phoenix and 5,469th nationally.

Agua Fria High School, 530 E. Riley Road, Avondale, ranked 95th in Arizona, fourth in AFUHSD, 73rd in Greater Phoenix and 5,692nd nationally.

Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center-Estrella, 3400 Dysart Road, Avondale, ranked 100th in Arizona, 78th in Greater Phoenix, 602nd in charter high schools and 5,945 nationally.

Great Hearts Trivium Prep, 2001 N. Bullard Ave., Goodyear, ranked 102nd in Arizona, 80th in Greater Phoenix, 616th in charter high schools and 6,112th nationally.

Estrella Foothills High School, 13033 S Estrella Parkway, Goodyear, ranked 120th in Arizona, second in BUHSD, 94th in Greater Phoenix and 6,933rd nationally.

Tolleson Union High School, 9419 W. Van Buren St., Tolleson, ranked 196th in Arizona, fifth in TUHSD, 140th in Greater Phoenix and 10,370th nationally.

Buckeye Union High School, 902 E. Eason Ave., Buckeye, ranked 202nd in Arizona third in BUHSD, 144th in Greater Phoenix and 10,730th nationally.

Sierra Linda High School, 9801 W. Van Buren St., Tolleson, ranked 239th in Arizona, sixth in TUHSD, 161st in Greater Phoenix and 12,468th nationally.

AFUHSD’s Canyon View High School, which opened in 2018 at 6024 N. Perryville Road, Waddell, was not ranked.
