Leadership talk to focus on turning negatives into positives

West Valley Women to meet virtually Sept. 1

Photographer, speaker and coach Karianne Munstedt will discuss “From Bully to Bestie: How Changing Your Thoughts Changes Everything,” when West Valley Women meet virtually Tuesday, Sept. 1.

“The average woman has thousands of thoughts per day, most of which are on a repeat loop. Of those repeated thoughts, a majority are negative,” Ms. Munstedt writes on her website. “The words we think to ourselves have a monumental impact on both how we live our lives and how we treat others. From her own experience, her years as a portrait photographer for women, and conversations with female acquaintances, Karianne has found the top reason why women speak negatively to themselves is: perfectionism.”

The Zoom room will open at 11:15 a.m. Conversation and connections will run from 11:30 a.m. to noon and resume at 1 p.m. after Ms. Munstedt's talk.

To register and receive a Zoom link for the event sponsored by Veincare of Arizona, visit westvalleywomen.org/product/september-meeting. Registration is $7 for members and $12 for nonmembers. The talk will be recorded and accessible to those who register for the program.

The organization’s website is under construction; those who experience difficulties registering can call West Valley Women CEO Lisa Platt at 602-573-7496 for assistance.
