Lawrence C. “Larry” Walton

Posted

Lawrence, 87, passed away on February 14, 2021. Larry was born in Everett, WA and lived most of his life in neighboring Lake Stevens.
He graduated from the University of Washington and was in ROTC. He became a career Air Force pilot and retired a Lieutenant Colonel. While attending the university, he met and married Gail Hill of Seattle. They settled in Everett/Lake Stevens and raised their children. Later, he married Jane Olsen of Everett.
Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and cheering on the Seahawks, but his greatest love was golf.
After retiring he wintered in Sun City, Arizona. The allure of sunny skies, an abundance of golf courses and ruby red grapefruits right outside his window led him to move south full-time. He kept in touch with old Everett buddies and made new friends, golfing whenever possible. He was especially close to Mike Huffman and Dick and Judy Hohn.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Gail and Paul Sycamore of Eliot, ME and granddaughter, Jacqueline Halliday of Seattle, WA. He is predeceased by his son, Larry Walton of Phoenix, AZ.
