Buckeye police search for suspects in shooting, burglary

Buckeye police need the public's help in locating and identifying two suspects in connection with a shooting and burglary.

Around 4:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13,  Buckeye police officers responded to a shooting in the area of 22000 West Shadow Lane. When they arrived, the officers contacted two victims inside a pickup truck which had been struck by at least one bullet.

The victims said one of their vehicles had just been burglarized by two suspects. As the victims tried to confronted the suspects, one of the suspects produced a handgun, police said. As the victims tried to drive away, one of the suspects fired multiple rounds at the victim's truck, striking it with one of the rounds and nearly missing the driver, police said.

As officers canvassed the area, they discovered numerous other vehicles with doors open or obvious signs that someone had entered them. Officers also located a stolen truck in the area of the shooting and discovered it had been taken earlier that evening from that same neighborhood. Evidence was located that linked the two suspects not only to the shooting but to the stolen vehicle and the multiple vehicle burglaries, police said.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 15 and 18, brown eyes and hair and a slight mustache. He was seen wearing a Karl Malone Utah Jazz No. 32 Jersey and black jeans and tennis shoes.

The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 15 and 18, about 5 feet 5 inches tall with brown eyes and hair and a slight mustache. He was seen wearing a short-sleeved shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information can call Buckeye Police at 623-364-6400.

Below is a video of the suspects in the neighborhood at the time. The video does not show the actual shooting but was taken in the same general area at the same general time.
