12% jump in Buckeye COVID cases in a week

The Arizona Department of Health Services reported the overall number of Buckeye COVID-19 cases at approximately 3,288 on Monday, Aug. 3. That’s an increase of more than 12 percent over the last week (2,925).

12% jump in Buckeye COVID cases in a week

The Arizona Department of Health Services reported the overall number of Buckeye COVID-19 cases at approximately 3,288 on Monday, Aug. 3. That’s an increase of more than 12 percent over the last week (2,925).

Breaking it down by zip code, there were 1,894 cases in Buckeye’s 85326 code, which includes areas of Liberty, Goodyear, Hassayampa and Cotton Center; 733 cases in Buckeye’s 85340 code, which includes areas of Litchfield Park, Glendale, Avondale and Goodyear; 506 cases in Buckeye’s 85396 code, which includes areas of Surprise; 150 cases in Buckeye’s 85361, which includes areas of Surprise and Wittmann; and “1 to 10” cases in Buckeye’s 85343 code, which includes areas of Palo Verde.

Here are the number of COVID-19 cases for zip codes that include Buckeye and some surrounding areas, according to the ADHS. The ADHS said more than 90% of cases were mapped to the address of the patient’s residence:
