Pinal County major comprehensive plan amendment No. PZ-PA-006-21 is bad for Apache Junction and Gold Canyon.
It would change an area of 11,700 acres at the base of the Superstition Mountains along U.S. Highway 60 by allowing for employment/industrial/manufacturing/warehouse, etc.
The Superstition Mountain area in Apache Junction and Gold Canyon is known throughout the state for recreation and beauty and is used, enjoyed and appreciated by all area residents and visitors.
The existing comprehensive plan for this pristine desert area bounded by the Superstition Mountains and US60, between Peralta Trail and Entrado del Oro, should remain in place to preserve the unique character of the Apache Junction and Gold Canyon communities.
