Robinson: I have been quarantined with COVID-19 for 2 weeks

Posted

If you could get word to the Pinal County powers-that-be who are suing for correct Pinal County numbers of people who have COVID-19 --- I, Heidi A Robinson, have it. Have been quarantined with it for two weeks. And my physician has requested me to remain quarantined one extra week.

The reason being. I'm still possibly ill. I called the numbers given to go to one of the drive-through COVID-19 checks. I was told not to do so, but to check with my physician and wait for a call back or to simply go straight to the hospital via the ER.

Reason being to check with my physician and wait for a response; there's a problem in either Arizona itself, or certain areas of Arizona. There's a shortage on test kits!

Many people who come down sick go to get checked but are just too sick to wait in very long lines waiting for a test.

Or during the process of waiting, they didn't yet have respiratory symptoms.

(I did, badly. But it was generally felt that I would be better off treating at home, since I have my own nebulizer, Albuterol. And my physician made urgent medicine requests to the pharmacy for me. If I got worse, I was then to be admitted to the hospital of my choice.)

I'm recovering well at home. However, many hospitals are overwhelmed and only have enough COVID-19 test kits to test possibly half of the people, at least in the east Mesa, Apache Junction, Gold Canyon areas. Possibly more than that.

This Information was told me by the Arizona 800 number I was told to call about drive-through testing, and confirmed by my physician who is an internal medicine specialist.
