Discussion or consultation with the city attorney for legal advice on Pinal County’s new highway --- Mountain View Road and Jacob Waltz Road --- is planned at the Apache Junction City Council’s July 7 closed-door executive session.
The City Council is to meet in executive session, which is not open to the public, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Conference Room, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.
Establishing 2.9 miles of Mountain View Road as a county highway from State Route 88 to Broadway Avenue and also 1.4 miles of Jacob Waltz Street from Mountain View to Holmes Road was approved recently by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors. See a story here.
State law allows executive-session meetings per Arizona Revised Statutes 38-431.03, which states, in part, that upon a public majority vote of the members constituting a quorum, a public body may hold an executive session. It goes on to list seven subsections detailing the types of meetings that may be held, according to azleg.gov.
