Apache Junction City Council recommends that the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control approve series 12 liquor licenses for two restaurants --- Dino’s Deli, 300 W. Apache Trail; and Momo Bowl, 725 W. Apache Trail No. 27.

Unanimous votes on both recommendations were approved at a recent meeting.

Dino’s Deli

The Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control received the application for Dino’s Deli on July 27, the Apache Junction City Clerk’s Office received it on Aug. 3 and a notice of public hearing was posted at the premises on Aug. 17, Deputy City Clerk Jill Bright said in a memo to the council.

“Dino’s is still under construction with an opening date sometime in January,” City Clerk Jennifer Pena said to the council.

Correspondence related to inspections of the premises for safety and code compliance matters have been received from the Apache Junction Police Department, Building and Safety Division, Planning and Zoning Department, and the Superstition Fire and Medical District, Ms. Bright said in the memo.

“All four entities find compliance with the inspection requirements and recommend approval,” she said.

Momo Bowl

The state received the application for Momo Bowl on Aug. 12 and the City Clerk’s Office received it on Aug. 18. A notice of public hearing was posted at the premises on Aug. 19, Ms. Bright said in a second memo to the council.

The police department, Building and Safety Division, Planning and Zoning Department and the fire district were contacted to confirm compliance with the inspection requirements, she said.

“The three city departments did do their ADA and safety inspections --- and so did Superstition Fire and Medical,” City Clerk Pena said to the council. “They are all recommending approval of the application. Zoning, however, would like us to reiterate the fact that the map that was submitted with the application does not quite match what the building layout is right now and if they do any kind of remodel that they come in and see zoning for permits.”
