Rep. Greg Stanton has the chance to support Arizona tech developers by supporting the Open App Markets Act.
Tech developers face harmful restrictions and protocols at the hands of tech giants, like unfair self-preferencing methods and a 30% transaction fee on purchases made through in-app payments.
This limits innovators’ ability to bring products to market and reach a broad consumer audience. Furthermore, these behaviors limit choices for consumers in the app marketplace.
The Open App Markets Act seeks to fix the practices that stifle competition for developers. It has become obvious we need a legislative solution to this problem.
I hope Stanton and the entire Arizona congressional delegation supports the Open App Markets Act.
