Registration open for Anthem triathlon in December
Posted
Independent Newsmedia
Contestants can now register for a triathlon event at the Anthem Community Center in December.
Athletes will suit up for the event, which includes a 400- meter heated pool swim and a 5-kilometer run to the finish.
There is also a youth triathlon event for children ages 14 and younger.
The event is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11.
Costs for adults to compete in the three competitions — triathlon, aquabike & duathlon— starts at $69 if participants register by Sept. 30.
Prices are subject to change depending on when the participant signs up.
According to the event's host, 4 Peaks Racing, the triathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), the governing body of multisport in North America.
"One of the many roles played by USAT is that of insurance provider for this race. As such, USAT requires that every participant be either (1) an annual member, or (2) purchase a one day membership."
