Juanita Maxine Devers

Juanita passed away suddenly on Monday, July 13, 2020 at the Rehab Select Nursing Home in Albertville, AL.
She was born in Cleveland, OH on January 22, 1925 but moved with her family to Indianapolis as a teenager, graduated from Howe High School and married Leland Devers in 1944.
She worked at United Way and was a member of AOA Sorority.
They lived in Fishers, IN for 30 years, retired and moved to Arizona. During the 40 years in Arizona, she was a member of The Red Hat Society and Tip Top Dancers in Sun City, made costumes and performed in many programs until she moved to Arab, AL at age 93. She was also active in the local Players Club and enjoyed activities at the Recreation Centers. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by one sister, Donna Stitzer of Indianapolis, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Devers of Arab, AL and Daryl and Cathy Devers of Hartford City, IN, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Her remains will be placed by her husband’s in the National Memorial Cemetery in Cave Creek, Arizona. Memorials can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a local food bank.
