One man has been arrested after his vehicle struck two pedestrians, and continued to drive into DJ’s of Scottsdale Bar and Grill, police officials say.
On June 4, at 7:30 p.m. Scottsdale Police Department officers were dispatched to a vehicle collision at 7320 E. Stetson Drive.
Police officials say a black SUV, driven by Allami Hussain, 52, left the roadway, struck two female pedestrians on the sidewalk and continued to drive into the restaurant.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital, one with serious injuries, and the other with life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses reported that the driver of the SUV fled the scene on foot, according to police.
Hussain was located a short distance from the scene; and arrested for failing to remain at the scene of a collision with injuries.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
On June 5, DJ’s of Scottsdale posted a statement on Facebook: “Thank you for all the support. Please keep the innocent victims in your thoughts and prayers. Structures can be repaired but the 2 young women and their families lives are forever changed because of one senseless act.”
